## How it works

1. **Add your chart** — Paste a screenshot (Ctrl+V), drop an image, or click Open. The chart loads on your device — nothing uploads.
2. **Calibrate the price axis** — Click two points whose prices you know and type their values, or hit Auto-snap to let OCR read the axis. Pick linear or log scale.
3. **Draw your analysis** — Choose Fibonacci, trend, channel, pitchfork, or a zone and draw directly on the chart. Levels are labeled with real prices.
4. **Export** — Download the annotated chart as a PNG, or save the project to reload and keep editing later.

### What can I draw?

Fibonacci retracements and extensions, trend lines and rays, parallel channels, Andrew's pitchfork, support/resistance zones, horizontal price lines, and text notes — each editable after you place it.

### How does the price axis calibration work?

You give the tool two reference points: click a spot on the chart and type the price there, then a second. It fits a pixel-to-price map (linear or logarithmic) so every drawing reports true prices. Built-in OCR can read the axis labels and pre-fill this for you.

### What image formats can I open?

PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, and BMP — anything your browser can decode. Screenshots from the Snipping Tool, broker apps, and phones all work.

### Can it fetch a live chart from a ticker symbol?

Not this tool — it works on chart images you provide, which is what keeps it fully offline. Live-data charting from a ticker symbol is planned as a separate finance tool.

## Tips

- **OCR does the calibration for you** — Click Auto-snap and the built-in OCR reads the price axis, fitting the scale automatically — nudge the two points if a label was misread.
- **Log scale for wide ranges** — Charts spanning a big price range often use a logarithmic axis. Toggle log so Fibonacci and trend levels land where they should.
- **Paste straight from a screenshot** — Press Win+Shift+S then Ctrl+V to drop a screenshot onto the canvas — no need to save the file first.

## Privacy — what we do not do

This tool runs entirely in the browser via WebAssembly. Your file never reaches a Loft Tools server. Specifically:

- **No upload.** The file bytes load into the browser tab's memory and process on your own CPU. Open DevTools → Network and observe zero outbound requests carrying file data while Chart Overlay Studio runs.
- **No AI training on your file.** Loft does not train models. We could not train on a file we cannot see.
- **No content scanning.** No virus, copyright, or content-moderation pass against your file. The bytes are not accessible to us.
- **No server-side log of file contents, filenames, or EXIF metadata.** Cloudflare edge captures URL and truncated IP for abuse defense (standard CDN behaviour). Cloudflare Web Analytics records anonymous page hits, no cookies, no PII. Nothing about your file content reaches any log.
- **No retention.** Close the tab and the file leaves browser memory. No backups exist on our side because no copy ever existed on our side.
- **No account.** No email, no signup, no auth, no telemetry tied to you.
- **Offline-capable after first visit** (PWA). Once you've loaded a tool, it caches; later sessions work without internet. For high-sensitivity files, run the tool once online to warm the cache, then disconnect before processing.

Compare with upload-based services: each transmits your file to a processing server. Even over HTTPS, each has logs, retention windows, and subpoena exposure. Loft has none of these because the server architecture does not include your file.
