Remove Audio from Video

Remove the sound from MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV videos in seconds. The video is copied, not re-encoded, so the quality and resolution stay exactly the same. Several clips at once, up to 4 GB each.

1
Drop your videos
Drag one or more videos onto the page or click to choose them. The audio is removed straight away.
2
Check the result
Play the silent copy in place and compare the file size before and after.
3
Download
Save each silent video, or download them all as one ZIP.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does removing the audio lower the video quality?

No. The video stream is copied into the new file packet for packet, without decoding or re-encoding it, so the picture, resolution, frame rate and bitrate are exactly what you started with.

How do I remove the sound from an iPhone video?

Drop the .MOV from your iPhone, including HEVC clips, and you get a silent .mov back with the same rotation. Pick MP4 under Save as if the app you share to prefers MP4; that is a lossless copy too.

Should I remove the audio track or keep a silent one?

Removing the track gives the smallest file and suits social posts and screen recordings. Some course platforms, TVs and video editors reject a video with no audio stream; choose Silent track for those.

What happens to videos with several audio tracks?

Every audio track is removed, including alternate languages and commentary, so the result is fully silent.

Can I mute only part of a video?

Not here. Muting a section means re-encoding the audio around it, and this tool only removes or replaces the whole soundtrack so the file stays lossless.

How large can the video be?

Up to 4 GB per file. The silent copy is written to your browser's own storage instead of memory, so large clips work on an ordinary laptop. Browsers without that storage handle up to 600 MB.
